After a summer off we just recorded our rambliest episode yet. We rambled so much I can’t even write an articulate summary. Even with bullet points. We just talked and talked for sixty-two minutes straight.
Lent starts next week and Miranda’s freaking a little about her plans to give up TV.
Miranda’s running her first race (a 3k with Krissie!) next weekend and she’s freaking out about that too. The girls tell Miranda to calm the hell down, but they do it in a really supportive way.
Lorrie gives us the update on her Insanity
Krissie banishes Nate from the room whenever she does yoga. Is that weird?
What’s the best way to build momentum? Do small steps really make that big of a difference?
Are you giving anything up for Lent? Or do you have any words of wisdom to share with the girls? Hit the comments to weigh in!
We’re kicking around ideas for Podcast 3, which is going to focus on Christmas and New Year. Anything specific you’d like us to talk about? Personally I don’t think you’ve really lived until you’ve heard Krissie sing the Sausage Ball song…
Now that you’ve listened to Podcast 1 chances are you’re hooked. At least that’s what we’re hoping. And since we like talking to each other as much as you like listening, we hopped on Skype and recorded a podcast about — what else? — the holidays.
Did you know:
Lorrie and Krissie use their smart phones to read blogs whilst in the bathroom. Miranda does not.
Miranda’s never had a massage, which the other Blog Girls find alarming.
Lorrie’s getting ready for her first 5k, and she’s nervous.
Krissie is driving home and back TWICE in four days to visit her family. That’s love.
Lorrie keeps things more low-key with an organic, free-range, Amish heritage turkey.
You know those crazy people who go shopping on Black Friday? Miranda’s one of them.
The Girls share their favorite holiday traditions, eating strategies, and discuss how to deal with pressure from the family to eat “bad”
…which leads to a discussion about baked goods and food in general, and what they do to control/avoid the urge to purge
Krissie is starting an online book club for “Women, Food and God” in a week or so. Keep an eye on her blog for more details.
Don’t forget to hit the comments to leave your feedback and questions. We love hearing from you!
We’re super psyched to have our first podcast posted. Big thanks to Lorrie’s husband, Josh, who worked all kinds of magic to get us up and running!
For episode 1 we got caught up with some updates from the crew, talked about running (of course), and the struggle to accept the identities we create for ourselves. Comments, questions and suggestions for our next podcast are strongly encouraged. Hit the comments and let us know what you think!
**Note: There’s an eight-second delay on the podcast. Blame Miranda!
